This year more than anything, it has encouraged us to celebrate everything. I’ve always believed that we need to make the most of every moment and enjoy time with our closest family and friends as much as possible. As a New York City event planner, my love for creating curated experiences comes naturally. When Alexa’s family reached out looking for someone to plan her New York City baby shower, I couldn’t have been more excited.
The mom-to-be and I originally connected when I planned her bridal shower a few years back so it was wonderful to reconnect and help her celebrate this new chapter in their lives. As a wedding planner, I become so close to each and every couple that I never want to be “done” after the wedding day. Hosting Your New York City Baby Shower at Home
When choosing a location for their New York City Baby Shower, we chose an absolutely breathtaking private residence. A baby shower at home is perfect for more intimate guest lists. I love working on locations that give you ample time to setup, which is not always the case when renting more traditional spaces. The private estate had a library/office with comfortable seating, dramatic black paint, and a feature fireplace. This was such an incredible space.
Making your Baby Shower More Personal
One of the benefits to hiring a baby shower planner, is that you have someone on the outside reminding you to make things more personal. Of course, you also want them to provide the ideas and inspiration so that you don’t have to stress. Pinterest is not enough. We made Alexa’s baby shower so much more personal, by adding in a lot of fun details to different elements of the afternoon. Write Pretty for Me created custom calligraphy signage for the welcome sign above, the “Mom-o-sa” Bar, and the different catering stations.
One of my favorite personal touches though, was the mashed potato bar. Alexa knew she wanted it from the start and we made sure to make it happen – nothing makes me more excited than bringing unique ideas to life. It was also a HUGE hit with all of the guests! Who doesn’t love a mashed potato appetizer with all the mixins?
New York City Baby Shower
At the end of the day, we all just want to celebrate life’s milestones with the one’s we love. With that in mind, Alexa’s baby shower was a huge success. Together with her closest family and friends, they enjoyed appetizers and mashed potatoes, stunning decor details, and lots of showering the mom-to-be and baby with love. I know I can’t wait to help them plan the next milestone in their life. Seriously, I am so grateful for the chance to connect with them over and over again.
