We all want our weddings to be unforgettable, right? For Jimmy and Blair’s New York City wedding, we headed to the Bronx Zoo for a unique wedding backdrop. You want your wedding to be beautiful, but you also want it to be a lot of fun. That’s where I come in (it’s kind of what I do around here!). If you are planning a Bronx Zoo Wedding in NYC (or one of the many other incredible venues we have in this great city), make sure to contact me here. I’m already booking well into 2022 (which is crazy to say!), but I would love to save your date in my party calendar!
First looks before the ceremony have been rising in popularity for a while now. I think they have finally overtaken the more traditional “aisle reveal”. A first look lets you experience all the feels in a more private setting. Don’t worry – you’ll still cry when you walk down the aisle. My couples tend to be madly in love and want to connect with each other as much as possible on their wedding day so a first look only seems natural! What I love about Bronx Zoo as a wedding venue, is the diverse range of stunning and unique backdrops you have access to around the property. From first look to your posed bride and groom photos, you’re definitely going to get the kind of photos you can hang on your wall here.
I don’t believe any other venue in New York City mixes architecture with nature this well. Despite the Bronx Zoo being public, the ceremony area is quite private. You don’t need to add a ceremony arch either – the architecture of the Schiff Family Great Hall truly provides more than enough wow factor. I love how Blair and Jimmy truly embraced their surroundings and kept their wedding color palette to white florals and greenery. Simply stunning.
Although the ceremony was kept classic, we took the same green and white color palette and used it to bring drama into the indoor wedding reception space. If you are looking to infuse some extra visual interest into your wedding reception, consider high floral centerpieces. Blair and Jimmy’s centerpieces were high enough that they didn’t interfere with eye contact around the table (very important!) but I also loved that we kept them a little wild. Dramatic Innovations handled the florals for the day and they really did do such an incredible job. They brought the feeling of outdoors inside in an elegant, yet dramatic way.
After Blaire and Jimmy’s wedding, I knew I couldn’t wait to work at the Bronx Zoo again.
